Tehran province is located in the south of foot of Alborz Mountains, in the north of Iran. Damavand, the highest mountain of Iran is in the north of Tehran. Alborz Mountains, Kavir desert and the west rainy winds are the three geographical factors which form the Tehran climate. Most of the province rivers originate from Alborz Mountains and are the main sources of water of Tehran.
