Known as "The Pearl of the North", Antofagasta is a city of contrast, where you can see the dryest desert and the bluest sea. It has amazing geological forms, cliffs, warm waters and typical flora and fauna. Antofagasta is a port city and episcopal see in northern Chile, about 700 miles (1,130 km) north of Santiago. The Second Region Capital is also a historical city.
