Almaty occupies a key and accessible location in Eurasia, it is one of transit stations of the Silk Road capable to further and upgrade tourism. Almaty is the largest city in Kazakhstan. It was the capital of Kazakhstan from 1929 to 1998. Almaty remains the major commercial center of Kazakhstan. The new 2030 General Plan of Almaty was developed in 1998 and aims at forming ecologically safe, secure and socially comfortable living conditions.
