NTERLAKEN, in a unique location between Lakes Thun and Brienz and at the foot of the towering trio, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, has for decades been the dream holiday destination and excursion departure point for countless international visitors.
Easily reached by road and rail, INTERLAKEN offers guests a remarkable range of extremely attractive excursion options. Highlights undoubtedly include trips to the 3454 metre-altitude Jungfraujoch and the Schilthorn summit with its 'Piz Gloria' revolving restaurant. But Interlaken also offers all kinds of other attractions in addition to unique experiences in the natural world. The most popular excursion destinations include the Ballenberg Open-Air Museum near Brienz, the St Beatus Caves above Lake Thun, the Trümmelbach Falls in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the Botanical Alpine Garden on Schynige Platte and the Mystery Park, the only one of its kind in the whole world.
Paragliding, River Rafting, Canyoning… now bookable via Indian Tour Operators!

Primitive Switzerland at the Swiss Open-Air museum Ballenberg
Ballenberg Swiss Open-Air museum – more than just a museum! 100 buildings from almost all the Swiss cantons are found in the Ballenberg Open-Air Museum near Interlaken. Two dozen traditional handicrafts and trades are demonstrated there, all kinds of Swiss farmyard animals roam the grounds and a changing programme of events provides a wealth of variety and entertainment especially for families. Furthermore Ballenberg is a bonus partner of the Swiss Travel System. From 1st January 2006 on, entrance to the museum is free of charge for adults travelling on a Swiss Travel System train pass. Ballenberg Open-Air museum will be open from April 13 to October 31, 2006.

Again in 2006 – Romantic Indian and Swiss Dinner Cruises on Lake Brienz
From May to the end of June 2006, Interlaken visitors have again the opportunity to enjoy our famous Indian Dinner Cruise on Lake Brienz including Indian buffet. But also in July and August we offer a Dinner Cruise on Lake Brienz. Food will be typical Swiss accompanied by Swiss Folklore music.
Mystery Park – The Great Mysteries of our World
From this summer on Mystery Park offers some new attractions to its visitors. One of the highlights is certainly Switzerland’s biggest indoor gold washing and gold digging area where up to 40 visitors can experience real gold digging. If people just have a few hours left for a short stay at the park (2-3 hrs), they can now profit from a short entrance ticket with up to 30% discount on the regular rate. Last but not least Indian visitors can combine their visit with a delicious and authentic Indian lunch.
The Swiss best-selling author Erich von Däniken, who has written dozens of books about the world's unsolved secrets, opened up the Mystery Park in Interlaken in May 2003 devoted to his long study of these mysteries. "Mysteries of the World” is a project that will bring together the great enigmas of the world under one roof in a unique place", he says. The mysteries of our world abound. They're everywhere, often in the most inaccessible places. For example, the riddle of Nazca is 450 kilometres south of Lima, Peru. There, laid out on the Plain of Nazca, are the dead straight, kilometres-long lines looking very much like landing strips up to 1.6 kilometres long and 70 metres wide. All explanations concerning the meaning and origin of these giant “scrapings” have been refuted. In the literature of ancient India there are references and detailed drawings of flying machines called the Vimanas. The Old Testament and Ethiopian oral tradition also speak of such machines. Until today, they remain unexplained.
